Brandon Harvey- May 3rd

Midtown Catholic’s Family Formation Program is excited to welcome guest speaker Brandon Harvey to St. Joan of Arc Church on May 3rd at 6:15 pm. He will be talking about Catholic parenting. All adults at Midtown Catholic are invited to attend. Childcare will be available for the youth who are already registered in the Family Formation Program.

Brandon Harvey is native to the Omaha Archdiocese. He is an instructor for the Evangelium Institute and also teaches English Literature at the university level. Brandon married his high school sweetheart, and they are blessed with four children. He has spoken throughout the country on topics relating to faith and family.

This event is free, so please come enjoy conversation and community with other parents and learn more about our Family Formation Program!

Sacred Music Concert

You are invited to enjoy an hour of sacred music performed by accomplished liturgical musicians Jim Nailon and Chris Bingcang on Sunday, May 7 at 2 pm in the Our Lady of Lourdes church sanctuary. A freewill offering and a bake sale to follow the concert will go to support the Ad Gentes Missionary Congregation Society, founded in 2003 by Fr. Vitalis Anyanike, pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes/St.Adalbert parish. This Society of avowed women and men focuses on serving the pastoral needs to those in rural and inner-cities, especially those who are marginalized and oppressed.  Please join us!

Al Kresta in Lincoln

Al Kresta, a national Catholic journalist, broadcaster and author, is coming Tuesday, May 2, to St. Peter Catholic Church in Lincoln at 7pm.  He hosts a lively call-in program on Spirit Catholic Radio weekdays from 3-5pm called, Kresta in the Afternoon, which features Catholic life through the lens of Scripture and the teachings of the Church. Benedictine Sisters to host in-person Monastic Experience in June

The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri, will host an in-person Monastic Experience June 23-29, 2023.

“It’s a chance to experience the daily rhythm of our life where you can join us in singing the divine office, attend daily Mass, spend time in personal prayer and open your heart to God’s call by learning about discernment and prayer,” Vocation Director Sister Maria Victoria Cutaia, OSB said. “It’s always a joy and an honor for me to journey with women who are discerning their path in life.”

This opportunity is for single women, age 18-40, who are considering religious life.  Omaha Sidewalk Advocates For Life is a life-affirming sidewalk advocacy and prayer ministry devoted to helping women who are pregnant – standing with them , meeting them where they are, and empowering them to embrace both their children and their dreams.

On May 20th, at the Catholic Charities education room (9223 Bedford Ave, Omaha NE 68134), Sidewalk Advocates will be presenting its fourth training for a peaceful, prayerful, law-abiding approach in reaching out to women and men on the sidewalks of abortion facilities. This training is also open to those wishing to engage in prayer support on the sidewalk, which is vital to our mission.
